"The Colosseum Project @ The House of Detention"
1999-07-11 until 1999-07-18
The House of Detention
London, , GB Great Britain (UK)

The House of Detention is a spectacular remnant of Old London, a dank, dark underground prison built in 1616. In the subterranean chambers beneath Clerkenwell - the old heart of Radical London - thousands of prisoners met their fate. The prison was used up until the end of the 19th century and today it is a museum.

The Colosseum Projects latest exhibition at the House of Detention is an underground exhibition of underground art. The artists of the Colosseum Project will create a wonderland of film, video, installation and performance within the strange subterranean world of the ancient prison, exploring the meaning and contexts of space.
