Bernice Steinbaum, of the Steinbaum Krauss Gallery in New York City, curated this exhibition celebrating the strength and resolve of women artists.
The thirty-one women featured, whose ages ranged from 70-105 years at the time of the exhibition opening, have persevered throughout the 20th
century to create a visual legacy for the 21st. Among those whose work is exhibited are Louise Bourgeois, Elizabeth Catlett, Helen Frankenthaler, Lois
Mailou Jones, Beverly Pepper, Miriam Shapiro, Elizabeth Scott, and Beatrice Wood. Five Georgia artists have been invited to participate in this exhibit at
its Macon showing exclusively: Genevieve Arnold, Atlanta; Routh Cline, Rocky Face; Theresa Rett English, Macon; Ruth Lawson, Atlanta; and Annie
Green, LaGrange.
