"Gregory Peck Honored"
1999-07-13 until 1999-07-13

Philadelphia, PA, USA United States of America

Gregory Peck has been honored by the city of Philadelphia for his humanitarian work. The 83-year-old actor received the second annual Marian Anderson Award last Saturday. The award is named after the late opera singer who was the first black performer to sing at the White House. Besides a crystal sculpture, Peck also got 100-thousand dollars... which he donated to several charities. Among other things, Peck is an outspoken supporter of gun control. He told the crowd of friends and fans - Our Congress has been going around and around...referring to the battle over gun control...What is wrong with keeping guns out of the hands of the wrong peopleNULL
