A selection of work from the Penlee House collections plus selected works
from private and public collections throughout Cornwall. The exhibition
seeks to tell the story of the Newlyn Colony of artists, from the arrival of
Langley in 1881 to the end of the true plein air Newlyn painting tradition.
The exhibition includes works by Langley, Forbes, Rheam and many more
with firm favourites such as School is Out by Elizabeth Forbes and
Norman Gastins masterpiece The Rain it Raineth.
