"Forum: Felix de la Concha"
0000-00-00 until 1999-09-19
Carnegie Museum of Art
Pittsburgh, PA, USA United States of America

As a child, Painter Felix de la Concha painted landscapes as he accompanied his father on fishing trips in his native Spain. Today he continues to prefer to paint outdoors. In the fall of 1997 he began a series of oil paintings of the University of Pittsburghs Cathedral of Learning - producing one painting every day showing the cathedral from different vantage points throughout the city. This exhibition will feature 365 views of the Cathedral, or one year of painting, painted in continuous seasonal blocks of time. De la Concha will complete this cycle during the run of the show, adding a new painting for every summers day beginning of June 21. Blank canvasses installed on the museum walls will be replaced, day by day, with brand-new paintings.
