1999-07-20 until 1999-08-09

Seattles Center on Contemporary Art (CoCA) announces a call for curatorial proposals for our 2001 season. Proposals should be received by CoCA no later than August 9, 1999.
Proposals received after this date will be considered for the 2002 season.
CoCA encourages anyone and everyone in the arts community -- artists, curators, writers, you name it -- to submit curatorial proposals for consideration. However, this is NOT a call for
submissions by individual artists to show their own work. Were looking for ideas for shows, visual arts exhibitions, public art, video and installation work, and performances that speak
to CoCAs mission to bring ambitious and innovative art to Seattle audiences.
The proposal should consist of the following:
1. a written proposal detailing the ideas and reasoning behind the show
2. visual materials (slides or videotapes)
3. biographical sketches or resumes for artists and/or curators
4. a general estimate of costs
5. a SASE for return of your materials
Descriptions of past CoCA programs can be found at the CoCA website at www.subpop.com/coca. CoCA uses a peer-review committee to set programming. Committee members
consist of CoCA board members and folks from the Seattle arts community. Questions about the proposal process can be directed to the following addresses:
Email: coca@speakeasy.org
Postal mail: 65 Cedar Street Seattle WA 98121
No phone calls please.
Completed applications can be sent to the postal address above. If youd like to present your proposal in person, please note as such in your proposal letter and we will do our best to
accommodate you.
