August 6, 7, & 8 the City of Providence welcomes award winning writers and industry leading directors, producers, agents and executives to the 3rd Annual New England Screenwriters Conference. This three day intense workshop consists educational panel discussions, informative and focused seminars, 1 on 1 script consultations, a film expo and exciting networking opportunities. The NESC recognizes that stories well told can only come from creative minds and we recognize that writers need support and encouragement, said Robert Dunbar Hofmann, Executive Director of the NESC. By assembling leaders within the industry: writers, producers, directors and executives, screenwriters will have the opportunity to learn from the best and network among influential decision makers.

This years award winning line-up of featured guests and key-note speakers include: writer D.C. Fontana (Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation, The Waltons, High Chaparral, Bonanza, The Big Valley), independent producer Steve Fassler (Dunkin Donuts, CUNA Mutual, Clinique), producer Gary Glassman (Discovery Channel and PBS), entertainement attorney John Ives, director of Local Sightings and former director of Coolidge Corner Theater David Kleiler (consultant for: Next Stop, Wonderland, Enough Already), writer, producer,director Don Mays (Same Difference), author Thomas Pope (Good Scripts, Bad Scripts), chairperson of Su-City Productions/writer and producer Susan Kouguell (The Suicide Club, Rum & Coke, Where the Rivers Flow North, Johny Hit and Run Pauline), writer/producer David Gerrold (Star Trek Trouble with Tribbles, Star Trek: The Next Generation), screenwriter and faculty memeber at Boston University Kae Geller, writer/co-producer/ director Steve Feinberg (Fortress, Fortress II, Peter York), vice president of acquisitions, Columbia Tri-Star Tom Rousch, writer Michael Russnow (Barney Miller, Different Strokes, Alice, Knots Landing, Dynasty, Santa Barbara, Streets of San Francisco, The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie), screenwriter/novelist Bill Snowden (Primary Motive, 4F), (plus 3).
