"CONTEMPORARY SOUTH AFRICAN PRINTMAKING"

This exhibition comprises a selection of 39 works by 14 prominent South African printmakers who have mastered a large
variety of graphic print media and form languages. The collection
of works was curated by Dr Muller Ballot, Director: University
Museum to form part of the South African Week in Flanders
which took place in Antwerp (Belgium) in October 1998. The
collection was also exhibited until January 1999 in Louvain,
Turnhout and Hasselt, where it was greeted with much interest.
The exhibition includes works by, for example, Kim Berman
(mezzotints), Lien Botha (selenium toned prints), Michele
dArgent (etchings), Billy Mandindi (etchings), Robert
Siwangaza (linocuts) and Lyn Smuts (colour etchings).
