"Impressionism: Paintings Collected by European Museums"
1999-10-02 until 1999-12-12
Denver Art Museum
Denver, CO,
USA United States of America
In Europe, Impressionist paintings were collected by artists, museums, ministers of culture, private collectors, and even churches. Today, visitors
flock not only to major museums worldwide, but also to lesser-known institutions where many of these masterpieces currently reside. Coming to
Denver and only two other cities in the U.S. for a rare glimpse are approximately 60 works by Monet, Cezanne, Pissaro, Degas, Renoir, Morisot,
Caillebotte, Sisley, Gauguin, Van Gogh and others—reflecting the broad interests and varied styles of the Impressionist school at its peak. Catalog.
Ticketed exhibition.
Note: Denver Art Museum members will be able to reserve tickets beginning July 14, 1999. Tickets will go on sale to the public on
August 14, 1999. For membership information, see the Membership area on this web site, or call 303-640-2755.
