This is the last in a four-part series examining the basic forms and sources of Islamic ornament. Through about 25 objects in many media chosen primarily from the Museum’s permanent collection, the exhibition examines the widespread but false perception that figural representation is never permitted to appear in Islamic art. The exhibition is made possible by The Hagop Kevorkian Fund.
