"ART & PRINT EXPO TO CO-LOCATE WITH BUYERS MARKET OF AMERICAN CRAFT"
0000-00-00 until 0000-00-00
Art & Print Expo
Philadelphia, PA, USA United States of America

Fine art originals, limited-edition prints and photography will be exhibited February 18-20 at the first Art & Print Expo to be held in conjunction with the Buyers Market of American Craft at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia, PA. The event is co-sponsored by The Rosen Group, producer of the Buyers Market, and Art Calendar, the business magazine for visual artists.

The Art & Print Expo will provide a wholesale market for fine art prints as well as originals. Fine artists are rarely allowed to exhibit and sell prints at shows, said Wendy Rosen, President of the Rosen Group. Selling prints is important to an artist's income. It allows him or her to spend more time in the studio developing better quality originals.

For almost 20 years we have been helping galleries fill their floors and shelves with the highest quality American and Canadian fine crafts, stated Rosen. Now we want to help them fill the walls too! A limited number of fine artists have been exhibiting their work at the Buyers Market for the past several years with a positive response from both fine art and craft galleries.

Many galleries find that carrying fine art along with craft art is a beneficial combination. Shirley Schwartz, owner of Barucci Gallery in St. Louis, MO began by carrying fine art and gradually added fine crafts. I find that with my clients, art and craft is a wonderful combination and create a nice balance, said Schwartz. She noted that customers often come into the gallery looking for fine art and leave with craft art too.

Our mission is to help artists market their art and we have chosen artists eager to deal with the wholesale marketplace, said Barb Dougherty, publisher of Art Calendar.

An educational component of workshops and seminars will further help artists market their work successfully. Topics will include Protecting Your Designs, Getting Your Work Out There, Profiting with Reproductions, Growing Patrons through Free Publicity, and Does It Pay to Advertise?
