Indepth Arts News: "New Colors / Nuevos Colores" 1999-09-24 until 0000-00-00 Chicano Humanities and Arts Council Denver, CO, USA United States of America
This exhibition features the art of four Colorado artists: Sylvia
Montero, Tony Ortega, George Rivera, and Eileen Tomaro. Sylvia Montero
will exhibit mixed media work which pays homage to the cultural heritage
of diverse backgrounds. Tony Ortega is presenting prints which reveal
the Mexican American experience through community, family and individual
slices of life. George Rivera is exhibiting digital (computer art) which
addresses colonialism as it impacts Chicanos in modern society. Eileen
Tamaro is showing new resurrected furniture pieces and ruanas
(Guatemalan wearable wraps).
