Blackchair Productions, curators and distributors of the Independent Exposure microcinema screening program, will open its new European subsidiary, Blackchair Productions Europe Ltd., this November in London which will act as the European market office and distribution hub of the Seattle, USA based company.

Blackchair Productions has been involved in the European and International exhibition and distribution markets for short film, video, and digital works for over 5 years and it is now time that we have a more physical presence in that part of the world, stated Patrick Kwiatkowski, Blackchair's European Manager. The raison d'être of Blackchair Europe will be to strengthen our relationships with the artists, curators, venue managers, and festival directors with whom we have dealt over the years as well as to establish new relationships in order to expand our international reach.

Independent Exposure, Blackchair Productions popular microcinema screening program will be enjoying a number of new international dates beginning with a 15-week run at the Daydream Theatre in Chevy Chase, MD on September 15, 1999. Other dates and venues include:

-September 28th: Psychotronic Film Festival, Washington, DC.

-October 5th: Transat Video Series in Saint Claire (Basse-Normandie), France.

-October 7-10: Animac International Festival of Animation in Lleida, Spain.

-October 12-15: Centro Colombo Americano in Medellin, Colombia.

-October 28: The Video Lounge at the Knitting Factory in New York City & the OvarVideo Festival in Ovar, Portugal.

-Fall, 1999: Euro Underground. Touring, underground festival with stops in Belgrade, Krakow, Kiev, Moscow and Chicago.

-December 11-18: Bangkok (Thailand) Experimental Film Festival.

-January, 2000: Catacomb Microcinema. Winnipeg, Canada.

Las Vegas, NV (Blue Sky International Film Festival)
