The inaugural San Francisco International Art Exposition (SFIAE), welcomed over
15,000 visitors to Fort Mason Center, October 1 - 4, 1998, marking San Franciscos
first major exposition featuring 20th century art. Exhibitors extending from
Vancouver to New York and Seoul to Paris traveled to San Francisco for SFIAE,
thus fortifying the growing marketplace for contemporary and modern art on the
West Coast.
Fort Mason Center, with the spectacular backdrop of the Bay, will once again
provide our international exhibitors and visitors with an ambience that is uniquely
San Francisco. The five-day show brings to the West Coast the unparalleled
opportunity for the public and art professionals to experience an overview of the
modern and contemporary art market. 100 distinguished galleries, representing 12
countries, will offer for sale the works of over 2,000 artists, in all media.
