"Summer Workshops 2000"
0000-00-00 until 0000-00-00
National Academy ofProfessional Plein air Painters
Seabrook, MD, USA United States of America

The National Academy of Professional Plein air Painters announces oppertunities for participation in Atelier Monet: Summer Workshop 2000 in La Roche-Guyon (Paris) from April 4th - 13th and from April 18th - 27th. La Roche-Guyon, considered by Geo Magazine one of the most beautiful villages of France, is situated in the Department of the Val d'Oise where Monet, Cézanne, Sisley, Pizarro painted. It is located 65 km west of Paris and 5 kilometres from Giverny. You will be staying in a large house (maison bourgeoise). Each of the five rooms has its own bath and WC. The early 20th Century house is furnished in the style of that era. The Impressionists were the painters of light, and color: these shall be the main components of instruction.

There will be 7 full days entirely devoted to painting with the medium of your choice. La Roche-Guyon with its castle and white chalk cliff hanging above the Seine River are sources of inspiration for many compositions. You will also paint one day in Monet's Garden at Giverny and in the old surrounding country side.

Discounted air transportation available through Agent and transportation information provided. The second free day will be spent at Auvers-sur-Oise, where Van Gogh painted and is buried.
