"Anamorphose/Metamorphose - Photographic Interventions by Georges Rousse"
1999-10-24 until 2000-01-30
Museum of Photographic Arts
San Diego, CA, USA United States of America

Known for his interventions made in empty -warehouses and abandoned buildings all over the world, Georges Rousse recently made a series of images in MoPA's space under construction. Rouse alters interior spaces through dramatic geometric forms and structures made by drawing, painting and cutting through walls. The camera then completes his massive forms, its unique perspective bringing the artist's virtual structure into alignment. Once the exposure is made, the space and the piece are both demolished, leaving the photograph to serve as both the record of the work and the final piece itself. This project is organized by the Museum of Photographic Arts in conjunction with Cote Quest.: A Season of French Contemporary Art.
