"Moderna Museet Projekt: Douglas Gordon"
1999-11-11 until 2000-01-09
Modern Museum
Stockholm, , SE Sweden

Douglas Gordon, born in Glasgow in 1966, is one of the most notable artists of his generation. His conceptually-based - but also very poetic - work often involves both more or less famous films, which are transferred to a video and manipulated for use in spatial installations. He has also used film music, for instance in the video installation Feature Film, where a whole orchestra with conductor plays the music to Alfred Hitchcock´s Vertigo. For Moderna Museet Projekt Douglas Gordon has come with a new work entitled Harmony. In Prästgården (the Vicarage) adjacent to the museum´s main entrance, films will be shown in which the same figures of music will be projected on large screens. Curator: Maria Lind
