Promoting exchanges and demonstrating the cultural and artistic diversity of Europe are key objectives shared by Apollonia and the Association Française d'Action Artistique (AFAA) who jointly present the exhibition entitled THE SPLIT PERSONALITY MADMAN. This show brings together French and Russian structures around a common theme of considerable originality on the contemporary art scene : idiocy as contemporary strategy.
On display will be some 180 works by 70 European artists, in the main Russian and French, chosen from numerous public and private collections.
The exhibition opens on the 7th of December 1999 at 4.30 p.m. in Moscow at the Central House of Artist and then, with an eye to cultural democratisation, travels on to several outlying areas in the Russian Federation. Its last stage will be in France at Oiron in June 2000.
