"No Boundaries: Rob Barnard, Allen D. Carter, Christian LeBlanc, Reid McIntyre,Tom Nakashima, and Michael Platt"
2000-01-07 until 2000-01-28
Anton Gallery
Washington, DC, USA United States of America

No Boundaries brings together five of Washington DCís top artists, Rob Barnard, Allen D. Carter, Michael Platt, Reid McIntyre, Tom Nakashima and Hollywoodís Christian Le Blanc, an illustrator and actor who stars as Michael Baldwin on the number one rated daytime drama The Young and the Restless. What emerges is a exhibition that blends artistic styles and mediums to illustrate that in the world of contemporary art there are No Boundaries.

Rob Barnard uses wood-fired pottery to express ideas about the struggle for freedom of expression. Allen D. Carterís paintings offers insight into his personal concerns -- homelessness, poverty and service to the needy. Michael Platt's digital images are a unique rendering of the personal and the social-political-historical. Reid McIntyreís ink and water color drawings explores the dark side of the psyche, melding compelling images into unique tableaus. Tom Nakashima blends collage, drawing and painting to create works of art of heroic scale based on a personal iconography. Christian Le Blancís whimsical, yet emotionally taut, drawings render musings on the 18th-century life in New Orleans.

The exhibition, sponsored by Celadon, Inc., Anton Gallery, and Movie Music Entertainment, begins on January 7 and runs through February 28. The Benefit for Children's Hospital is on January 15 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Cast members from The Young and the Restless will be present. Chef Gregory Hill will present The Fusion Fire featuring a whole roast pig.

Donations will help fund the Childrenís Hospital New Horizons program at Childrenís Hospital. New Horizons is an arts education and cultural enrichment program at Childrenís National Medical Center. It was founded in 1978 as an outgrowth of the hospitalís concern for the total physical, emotional and intellectual needs of its young patients.

Anton Gallery has been serving Washington for nineteen years. Located near Dupont Circle, it is open Tuesday through Saturday
