Pannucci will take you on a fast-paced tour highlighting ASCI's work
including exhibitions, panels and symposia, and website. This will include:
The Pull of Kinetics, LightForms98, and WOMENTEK exhibitions and its
current SolarScapes project at Liberty Science Center. ASCI's educational
events have become sign-posts for sharing the pioneering work in this field
with the NYC art community and the general public. Selections from:
Collectibility and the Digital Print and Bell Labs & the Origins of the
Multimedia Artist panels, and all-day symposia such as CyberArt99 and
the annual ArtSci98 will be presented.
SARA DIAMOND
Artist, curator, writer, artistic director, Media and Visual Arts at The
Banff Centre for the Arts and Executive Producer of New Media and Television.
Reaction/Diffusion R and D -- The Navigation of Intelligence
Sampling through the video and new media works of The Banff Centre for the
Arts Media and Visual Arts Program, Diamond will explore ways that artists
have approached questions of social science and technology research with
intelligence and passion. New forms of narrative, the navigation of
information and responsible but tough interventions characterize work
produced by Banff. She will end with an introduction to Code Zebra, her new
work in progress interrogating the romance between art and science.
Directions: The EDA Space is at 1473 Dickson Art Center which is located in
Westwood, northeast corner of the UCLA campus, near the intersection of
Sunset Blvd. and Hilgard Ave.(east of the San Diego/405 Freeway, Sunset
Blvd. exit). Parking is available for $5 in Lot 3.
