The New York Society of Women Artists is welcoming the new millenium with an exhibition entitled Disappearing Boundariesat NOHO GALLERY, 168 Mercer Street, New York. Tel. 219-2210. Since its inception in 1924, the New York Society members have been a strong art world presence, both as individual artists and as a group. Their work, always fresh, at times bordering on controversial, is dynamic and lively. These artists are not afraid to push perceived boundaries.
Painting, mixed media and sculpture will be featured. The nature of space is explored through realism, abstract and non-objective statements and conceptual pieces. On view will be delicate watercolors, bold acrylics and oils as well as monumental sculpture.
The members of The New York Society of Women Artists are represented in public and private collections. All members have had solo exhibitions and participated in numerous national and international exhibitions.
A reception is scheduled for Sat., January 15, 3-6 pm. Noho Gallery is open Tues.-Sun. 11-6 pm.
