"GRAPHIC DESIGN EXHIBIT"
2000-01-24 until 2000-02-29
KEENE STATE ARTS CENTER
Keene, NH, USA United States of America

Some of the finest work produced last year by graphic design professionals and students throughout northern New England will be exhibited Jan. 24 through Feb. 29 at Keene State College in the lobby of the Redfern Arts Center on Brickyard Pond. The New Hampshire Creative Club's 11th annual exhibition showcases the talents of creative directors, graphic designers, copywriters, illustrators, photographers, web designers, and typographers working in northern New England.

This is an opportunity for people in the Monadnock Region to see the annual exhibition, which is usually displayed only in the Manchester/Nashua areas, says Nancy Haggarty, a Keene State graphic designer and Creative Club member.

In past years, the annual juried exhibition has included works by Keene businesses such as Church & Main Advertising and Al Karevy Photography along with works by Keene State students. This year's exhibition includes 35 pieces that range from posters to desk calendars as well as advertising and packaging designs. Most are works designed for clients looking to promote specific products or businesses, such as a portrait brochure designed for a photography studio and a series of customer testimonial ads created for a bank.

These works highlight the creative process involved when professionals and students do their jobs so well that their designs become works of art, explains Haggarty. She adds that the Redfern Arts Center is a very appropriate place for the exhibition since the building is home to Keene State's art department, which this year was expanded to include graphic design majors.

The New Hampshire Creative Club gives design students the opportunity to meet, learn, and interact with seasoned professionals outside the walls of academia. The group meets monthly for a social networking hour, followed by presentations relating to the creative arts industry.

The exhibition is free and open to the public. The Redfern Arts Center, located off Wyman Way, is open from 8 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 6 p.m. to midnight Sunday. For information about the Creative Club and its exhibition, call Nancy Haggarty at 603-358-2120.
