2000-02-04 until 2000-04-16
Brooklyn Museum of Art
Brooklyn, NY,
USA United States of America
This exhibition, part of the Working in Brooklyn series, will present books made in the 1990s by more than
fifty Brooklyn-based artists, culled primarily from the BMA's Library Collection. It will feature multiples
displayed on a library reading table so that the public can have a hands-on encounter with artists books.
Also included in the exhibition will be finely printed limited editions and sculptural bookworks. Many of the
works deal with social and political themes, the environment, feminism, and gender issues-as well as
humorous views of life today.
