"MOBILE: DI BARRETT ANN SHELTON REBECCA SWAN"
2000-02-11 until 2000-03-12
Australian Centre for Photography
Paddington, , AU Australia

Focusing on the work of three women from Australasia and incorporating a range of photo-media, Mobile addresses cultural and gender diversity: the bodies we inhabit and spaces through which these bodies move. Specially curated by the ACP for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival this exhibition brings together the ironic images of Di Barrett, Ann Shelton s seductive retro interiors and the poignant CD-ROM installation of Rebecca Swan.

Challenging the notions of the typical, Mobile crosses borders, investigating psychological and physical spaces, through work that asks questions as often as it answers them.

Perhaps the memory will always evade me, because I cannot return to the naive thoughts and visual fantasies of when I was eight years old. Di Barrett
