"THE HUNT SERIES, A COLLECTION OF 12 BRONZES BY MAUREEN QUIN "
2000-03-06 until 2000-03-18
Edoardo Villa Museum, University of Pretoria
Pretoria, , ZA South Africa

The HUNT series, a collection of 12 bronzes by the sculptor Maureen Quin, will be taken on a national tour during 2000. Maureen Quin has been working on the series over a period of 8 years and they depict a deeply felt emotional response to man's inhumanity to his fellow man coupled with the continued destruction of his environment.

In a booklet The Hunt, produced by the artist, she recounts her train of thought and the emotions she experienced culminating in the conceptualisation and production of this series.

The completed series was presented to the public for the first time at the 1999 Standard Bank Arts Festival in Grahamstown where the response from the art loving public was overwhelmingly favourable.
