"WHERE IN THE WORLD IS THE WIRRAL"

Gallery 1114, a contemporary artists cooperative

Gallery 1114 is pleased to present a fringe exhibit from Midland's Sister City in Wirral, England. The artwork features scenes around Wirral, and is being held in conjunction with an exhibit at Midland's Museum of the Southwest. Titled, Where in the World is the WirralNULL, artist from Blackthorn Galleries in England include Paula Bird, Jim Fleming, Bob Goldsbourgh, David Hillhouse, twin sisters, Amrit Singhand Rabindra Singh, Kevin Reilly, Mavis Blackthorn, Roland Fletcher, Grace Horne, and Chris Millichamp. Iain Oglivie, owner of Blackthorn Galleries, will be honored at a reception scheduled for Saturday, March 4, from 7-9 pm at Gallery 1114. Gallery 1114 is located at 1114 N Big Spring in Midland.

The Gallery will also be showing the dolls of California artist, Sara Austin. Austin's dolls, have shown in museums and galleries across the United States. She has been published in several magazines, and has taught doll-making for several years. Some of her work also includes fabric journals.

The show will run March 2 through April 9, 2000. Gallery hours are 1-5 pm Thursday through Sunday, or by appointment. Gallery 1114 is a cooperative center for modern and contemporary work. Member artist include Kitt Beck, Julia Bias, Ramah Bosecker, Mark Cox, Karen Hembree, Joyce Howell, Gabriel Lewis. Vanessa Matthews, Sharon Navage, Susan Randle, Beci Smith, and Kathy Williams.
