A selection from the Museum's recent acquisition of African art that concentrates on work
from Gabon and the Congo and pays tribute to the generosity of donor Lawrence
Gussman. The installation is organized thematically, highlighting funerary arts, objects of
power and purpose, and art and governance.
These works will be included in a major
exhibition of central African art that will travel to the Israel Museum, the National Museum
of African Art in Washington, DC, and the Neuberger Museum of Art.
