"Deeper, Deeper (Out, Out, Jezebel Spirit) (anOther ongoing performance) by Shannon Rose Riley"
2000-03-23 until 2000-03-25
Mobius
Boston, MA, USA United States of America

This work is a response to the experience Riley had while living in the front gallery at Mobius for two weeks in June 1999 as part of the Reports from the Interior /Reports from the Surface project, during which time she tried to live as three different personae. This new work moves both deeper into and rejects that experience. Riley will live at Mobius for a weekend without sleep, where she will perform in movement and text using Authentic Movement, Butoh, spontaneous dance, the art of striptease, and trance as springboards.

This work is a contra-diction. (To speak against.) Deeper Deeper the work moves in goes into penetrates Out Out the work casts out ejects the abject separates removes. The work is a contradiction. It speaks against itself. What is the relationship between what we penetrate/possess and what we cast outNULL
