"Chicago International Antiques & Fine Art Fair"
2000-04-28 until 2000-05-01

Chicago, IL,
USA United States of America
The return of the Chicago International Antiques &
Fine Art Fair™, held at The Merchandise Mart
Friday, April 28 through Monday, May 1, 2000,
incorporates The Antiquarian Book Fair and
Prints|Chicago. The Fair is larger than most events
of comparable quality, but the show’s producers
maintain high standards and offer an unusually
broad selection of goods.
In addition to the staples
of furniture, jewelry, paintings, silver and ceramics,
the Chicago Fair is rich in 20th century design, clocks, fine prints and rare books.
This year’s loan exhibition, CHANEL: A Passion for Jewels, will feature
highlights from the Chanel Fine Jewelry Collection that exemplify
Mademoiselle Chanel’s lifelong passion for dramatic and innovative jewelry.
Archival designs from Chanel’s historic diamond jewelry exhibition of 1932 are
featured, along with new designs celebrating her enduring legacy.
To compliment this dazzling array of treasures, the Fair offers attendees
amenities such as gourmet meals, snacks and desserts, cocktails and other beverages, a stimulating
lecture series and special social and educational events throughout its four-day duration.
The Antiquarian Book Fair
The Antiquarian Book Fair, the Midwest’s finest showcase of rare and collectible books, first editions,
maps, prints and autographs, is held in conjunction with the Antiques Fair. All participating booksellers
are members of the Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association of America (ABAA) or its international
equivalent, the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB), and, as such, hold themselves to
the highest professional standards.
Prints|Chicago
For the third year in a row, Prints|Chicago will be held in conjunction with the Antiques Fair. This
prestigious 15-year-old show comprises dealers of works on paper who, together, offer tens of
thousands of prints, drawings and watercolors.
