National Arts and Disability Center
Los Angeles, CA,

SPIRIT OF THE ADA: Celebrating Disability Culture in the New Millennium. Publicity will call attention to this exhibit as part of New York City's
ADA 2000--a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Americans with
Disabilities Act, which includes receiving the national torch relay in NYC
on August 6 and a grand finale on August 7 at the United Nations, passing
the torch to the world community of people with disabilities. In keeping
with the theme, submissions should in some way reflect disability
culture and the experience of people with disabilities. Your interpretation
of the theme can be broad. The works do not have to be representational and
do not need to be limited to displaying people with visible disabilities.
The works may be abstract, as well, and your vision can be interpreted on
canvas, or in clay, acrylic, photographs or sculpture.
Please note: that Entries and Slides must be received by May 26, 2000. To
