"Urban Glass: Working in Brooklyn"
2000-05-06 until 2000-09-03
Brooklyn Museum of Art
Brooklyn, NY, USA United States of America

The Brooklyn Museum of Art and UrbanGlass, the New York Center for Contemporary Glass located in downtown Brooklyn, will collaborate on this exhibition of historical and contemporary glass works inspired by the collections of the Brooklyn Museum of Art. It will be a part of a series of Brooklyn events in conjunction with the Glass Art Society Conference in the borough in June 2000.

One of the few urban centers for the creation of art made from glass, UrbanGlass has gained an international reputation among glass artists. The BMA's rich collections have inspired local artists for most of the twentieth century.

Organization: John Perrault, Director of UrbanGlass, will collaborate with Melissa M.W. Seiler and Kevin Stayton, Curator and Department Head of Decorative Arts at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, to organize this exhibition.

Support: This exhibition is made possible by a generous grant from ATandT.
