The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons is sponsoring a juried, themed art exhibition, eMotion Pictures: An Exhibition of Orthopaedics in Art. Open to all artists who presently have, or have ever had, an orthopaedic condition, artwork must illustrate (though it need not be figurative or representational) some aspect of the artist's feeling toward or relationship with the condition, such as pain, recovery, movement, body image, hope, freedom, restriction, challenge.

Artwork selected by a jury of art professionals will be exhibited at the J.J. Brookings Gallery in San Francisco February 27 - March 3, 2001 and again in Washington, DC in April 2001. Selected artwork will also be exhibited at appropriate venues and press events throughout 2001. The jury will award $2,500 to Best of Show, and additional awards.
