The Columbia Museum of Art is featuring in its Focus Galleries contemporary prints from the collection of Jasper Johns. This exhibition is the second part of a series of three smaller showings. For view are works from Josef Albers' portfolio Homage to the Square/Soft Edge - Hard Edge (1965). The images included are
Goldengate,
Palatial,
Nacre,
Late,
Porta Negra,
Emeraude,
Profundo,
Artic Bloom,
Pending and
Arrived.
Visitors to the Museum's permanent collection galleries will find four Focus Galleries
dedicated to changing installations of works not ordinarily on view - three on the second
floor, and one on the main floor. When the Museum's galleries were in the design stage,
the staff wanted to set aside these Focus Galleries as places where visitors would always
be able to find new and unknown 'treasures' from the collections.
