"LOOP-HAPPY, MELODY-MAKING SITE LAUNCH"
2000-06-08 until 2000-07-31
Man from Atlantis Website
Amsterdam, , NL Netherlands

The new Man from Atlantis website is a funhouse of smart interactivity. It's for anyone who enjoys being musically creative online. The Funtime Game allows you to choose a background drum loop and then build your own unusual melodies atop it by passing your mouse over the various photographs on the screen. These photos then change to reveal new ones underneath, not unlike the advent calendars of yore. Yet the Man from Atlantis game is unlike other interactive music sites in that it doesn't just force-feed you ready-made sequences that can only be triggered robotically. It lets you actually create music.

Man from Atlantis is an Amsterdam-based musical project that makes short instrumental songs (about 1 minute each) in an analog, post-rocky vein. The site also features downloadable MP3s, manifestos, and free-floating artworks. The Funtime Game runs under any browser equipped with a Flash plug-in.
