Artist SUSAN KAPROV's deceptively beautiful digital images explore the natural world as a phenomenon in contradiction: one that is neither completely natural nor artificial but hovering somewhere between death and life.
Each image is a complex still-life tableau, meticulously constructed layer by layer from the partial sections of living plants and flowers. At first glance, the vibrantly colored prints appear almost obsessively ordered: close-up, they are transformed into disturbing and vaguely menacing fragmentations of nature.
