"Under the Same Sky project culminates in Hernesaari"

Afetr Kallio, Munkkiniemi and Vuosaari,Under the Same Sky project brings art to the uninhabited tip of Hernesaari, next to the harbour area. This summer phase brings to an end the year-long project, in which the works of 16 artists and artistic groups have beendisplayed in four different areas of Helsinki. The artists in this portion of the exhibition are Olafur Eliasson, Alicia Framis, Tommi Groenlund and Petteri Nisunen and Henrik Hakansson.
The works of the city art project live in rhythm with the seasons and changes in the weather. Just as unavoidably the works are exposed to the life of the city as regulated by the time of day. The city environment is a merciless testing ground for artworks - and actually for the entire concept of art - even quite literally.
