"American Impressionism: Treasures from the Smithsonian American Art Museum"

One of eight exhibitions in Treasures to Go, from the Smithsonian American Art Museum, touring the nation through 2002. The Principal Financial Group is a proud partner in presenting these treasures to the American people. Work includes canvases full of light and color by such artists as Childe Hassam, James McNeill Whistler, Mary Cassatt, John Twatchman, and Thomas Wilmer Dewing.

Celebrating the opening of the exhibition on Friday, June 16 will be a Gala Preview and Cocktail Party, 6 p.m., $275. Also on Saturday, June 17 there will be an Opening Reception between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. $5 donation (members Free) A Gallery Talk will be presented by Elizabeth Broun, Director of Smithsonian American Art Museum at 3:30 p.m. The talk is free to the public
