Hudson River Museum
Yonkers, NY,

Ralph Fasanella is a nationally recognized folk artist and long-time Westchester County resident. This self-taught artist
drew his inspiration from his working class roots. Fasanella painted nearby urban and suburban neighborhoods,
including Dobbs Ferry and Ardsley. He also painted the east Bronx, where he co-owned and worked at the Happy and
Bud Service Station. Fasanella's densely-packed canvases are characterized by bright colors and multiple perspectives
The exhibit will examine different topics from Fasanella's oeuvre. These include scenes of Westchester County,
baseball games, street festivals, political rallies and election campaigns. A socially-conscious artist, Fasanella's works are
ultimately celebrations of working-class Americans.
