"Martha Rosler: Positions in the Life World"
2000-07-29 until 2000-09-24
International Center of Photography
New York, NY, USA United States of America

Through her work as a leading videomaker, theorist, photographer and political activist, Martha Rosler investigates the changing nature and meaning of documentary photography.

Martha Rosler's long commitment to politically engaged art has, at times, distracted attention from the ways in which her work delibrately engages with the traditions of documentary photography.

This exhibition is presented in conjunction with the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York. It was organized by the Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, UK, and the Generali Foundation, Vienna, Austria, and is supported by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. The ICP presentation is supported by Artur Walther, Robert Beyer, an anonymous donor, and The New York State Council on the Arts.
