"Sheron Rupp Photographs: In Montana with Beth"

Born in Mansfield, Ohio in 1943, Sheron Rupp moved to New England after graduating from
Denison University with a degree in psychology. She studied art and photography in Boston,
then began to photograph working-class families, mostly in western Massachusetts, where she
lives now.
She works in a classic documentary mode, getting to know her subjects and
establishing trust before asking if she may photograph them. This exhibition presents a
current project, about 20 color prints drawn from visits to Great Falls, Montana in 1996, 1997,
and 1999.
