Indepth Arts News: "S A L L Y S M A R T P A R A M E T E R S H E A D : A L A R O N D E" 2000-09-07 until 2000-09-22 Experimental Art Foundation Adelaide, SA, AU
Sally Smart was born in South Australia and studied at the South
Australian School of Art from 1978 to 1981. She has recently exhibited in
Japan, Singapore and Korea, and in 1999 was the recipient of the Australia
Council's London Studio Residency.
This exhibition develops Smart's
interest in the unique 16-sided English house 'A La Ronde', built by the
Misses Parminter in the late 18th Century. For this exhibition at the EAF
Smart will create an installation work based on her research of this
unusual home, also referring to psychology, biology and architecture.
A 28 page catalogue is available with images by Sally Smart, and texts by
Christopher Chapman and Marcus Baumgart.
