Indepth Arts News:
"Jed Devine Photographs"
2000-09-10 until 2000-12-31
Neuberger Museum of Art
Purchase, NY,
USA
Jed Devine's work is indicative of his sharp eye for subject and form. He often focuses on
landscape or skyscape, revealing a unique formalism in nature. In certain instances, the
nude human body is included within the land's crests and basins. Working primarily in
black and white, Devine conveys a romantic mood tempered by his ability to emphasize a
found order in the external world.
Devine is a staff member of the renowned Purchase
College Photography Department. Curated by Judy Collischan, Ph.D., Neuberger Museum
of Art Associate Director for Curatorial Affairs. Funded, in part, by the Friends of the
Neuberger Museum of Art and the Westchester Arts Council.
