"Gillian Wearing"
2000-09-16 until 2000-10-29
Serpentine Gallery
London, ,
UK United Kingdom
1997 Turner Prize winner
Gillian Wearing uses
photography and video to
explore the intimacies
and complexities of
human relationships.
Drawing on the genre of
television documentaries
and borrowing from
popular culture, her art is
a disturbing and frank
portrait of contemporary
life.
This will be Wearing's
first significant
one-person exhibition in
London and will feature
classic early works as well
as recent video
installations including
Drunk (1999), and a new
work commissioned by
the Serpentine Gallery.
