"Surreal Anatomies: Works on Paper by Hans Bellmer and Dorothea Tanning"

This exhibit will feature prints by Hans Bellmer and Dorothea Tanning from
the Carlos Museum and the High Museum of Art collection. Organized by
Carlos curator Margaret Shufeldt and Megan McShane, Emory University Ph.D.
candidate in art history, with the assistance of Dr. Clark V. Poling,
professor of Art History at Emory University, the exhibit will examine
some of the ways in which Surrealist artists treated, or mistreated, the
human body.
Prints from the permanent collection of the Michael C. Carlos
will explore the fantastic, sometimes shocking, representations of the
human figure reflect the personal visions and psychological experiences of
each of the Surrealist artists.
