"Brand.New"
2000-10-19 until 2001-01-14
Victoria & Albert Museum
London, , UK

Brand.new is an exhibition that takes a fresh, new approach to the diversity of international contemporary design, reflecting the rise of global consumerism. It critically examines how familiar brands are constructed by companies and how their values are communicated. It also explores how consumers ascribe personal values to the things they buy and use, to create individual identities and lifestyles.

Brand.New shows new design, new technology and new media in contrast to more familiar everyday goods and brand names, reflecting the diversity of material culture and values at the start of the new millennium. The exhibition will be a series of exciting and stimulating installations by young and influential designers, allowing the visitor to understand the world of goods with new clarity.
