"DeCordova Downtown: Art That Means Business"

DeCordova Downtown: Art That Means Business is a celebratory exhibition. As DeCordova marks
its 50th Anniversary, the Corporate Program celebrates its own 30 year anniversary of unique and important
contributions to DeCordovas educational mission. DeCordova Downtown is the means by which we visually
celebrate the Corporate Programs accomplishments and pay homage to the extraordinary generosity displayed by
the many artists who loan work to DeCordova.
DeCordova Downtown only skims the surface of the wealth of talent represented by artists involved in
DeCordovas Corporate Program. The Loan Collection includes work in a wide variety of media, including
painting, printmaking, textile arts, sculpture, glass, and multi-media work. The many artists who generously
loan work to the Corporate Program enable DeCordova to install over 60 exhibitions of art in Corporate
Member offices throughout the Boston area each year. The generosity of these artists allows the Museum extend
its educational mission to the many individuals who might not have access to the very exciting trends in
contemporary art taking place in New England today.
Although DeCordova Downtown presents work by less than a quarter of our lending artists, and the catalog
only a few of those included in the exhibition, we graciously extend our sincerest thanks to every artist who
loans their work to the program, and to the many Corporate Members who recognize the value of seeing
beautiful, and sometimes challenging, objects every day.
