"New Paintings by James Herbert"

This exhibition includes new paintings by James Herbert, a series of film stills and the presentation of a selection of his films and videos. This will be the first occasion upon which Herbert’s films and paintings have been shown together.
Adjunct programming includes: a film series organized by Image Film and Video Center, entitled The Celluloid Canvas, which will focus on painterly filmmaking, and will feature works by Herbert, Stan Brakhage, and Jean Cocteau . A symposium, Forever Young which seeks to confront issues of adolescent sexuality, a debate stimulated in part by Herbert’s consistent use of nudity and young adult actors in his many films.
