"Paul Gauguin: A Distant Paradise"
2000-11-04 until 2001-01-28
Göteborg Museum of Art
Göteborg, , SE Sweden

The exhibition features thirteen paintings, four sculptures and thirty prints and drawings by Paul Gauguin (1848-1903). Most of the loans for the exhibition come from museum collections in the Nordic countries where Paul Gauguin is surprisingly well represented due to his many contacts in this part of Europe. However, one of the key pictures belongs to the Art Institute of Chicago.

Another section is devoted to Nordic artists - such as Karl Nordström, Ivan Aguéli, J.F. Willumsen and Edvard Munch - who were influenced by Paul Gauguin around the turn of the century.
