David Bierk's paintings are created as personal homages to the works of such
historical painters as Albert Bierstadt, Henri Fantin-Latour, Caravaggio, and
Jusepe de Ribera. In this exhibition viewers will experience the fusion of past
and present in Bierk's works.
His compositions frequently address the
nostalgia of our age for the traditional painting styles of previous centuries,
while demonstrating how these classic styles have coalesced and been
transformed to create the pluralism indicative of our modern age.
