"Struggle: The Art of Szukalski"
2000-11-12 until 2001-01-07
Luguna Art Museum
Luguna Beach, CA, USA United States of America

Stanislav Szukalski was an artist, anthropologist, and self-proclaimed genius who was hailed at one time as Poland's greatest living artist. A member of Chicago's cultural elite during the 1920s, Szukalski spent his last years living in relative obscurity in suburban Los Angeles until his death at age 93 in 1987.

Today Szukalski is remembered for his outlandish yet eloquently spoken political and scientific views and his brilliant sculptures. This retrospective of Szukalski's work includes his major sculptures, drawings, and texts.
